Rolston 75 -- Some information gleaned from Dr. Wayland's Virginia Valley Records as to the Rolstons, Ralstons, Rolstones, Roalstons, and Rolestones, (all these spellings probably referring to the same lines): (2) That Benjamin Ralston Married Margaret Henry, September 12, 1797 (unless this is the date of the marriage bond; it is not quite clear whether these lists refer to the bond, or were taken from the marriage registers. . I will refer to them as the marriages themselves,--not knowing certainly which is meant.)

        WILL OF WILLIAM RALLSTON

In the Name of God, Amen. I William Rallston of the County of Augusta and Colony of Virginia being very sick and weak in Body buy of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of the body and the uncertainty of this life, I do therefore make and ordain this to be my last will and testament and first in commending my soul to God who gave it and my Body to the grave to be buried in a Christian and decent manner and as to such worldly estate and goods as are mine I intend to give and bequeath as follows. I likewise order and allow that all my just and lawful debts be paid and that my funeral charges be defrayed out of my estate. I likewise give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Eleanor the third of all crop or crops that shall be raised upon the plantation that I now live upon during her life provided that she furnish one plough horse for labouring the plantation. I likewise give unto her all the goods and chattles now belonging to my estate only such legacies as shall be (?) Are to be paid out of whole estate. I likewise give and bequeath to my well beloved son Robert ten shillings lawful money of Virginia to be paid within twelve months after my decease by the executors. I likewise give and bequeath to my well beloved son David ten shillings lawful money of Virginia to be paid within one year after my decease. Whom to be over seer I also allow to take care of his mother that she be not wronged nor the estate wasted. I likewise constitute and ordain my well beloved wife Eleanor to be whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament and in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixteenth day of December in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty six.
